Therapy for Perfectionists, People Pleasers, and High Achievers in Los Angeles
When being “everything to everyone” leaves you disconnected from yourself
You might be the one everyone relies on. The responsible one. The high performer. The one who “has it together.”
You meet deadlines. You show up for others. You push through. And yet, inside, you’re tired. Anxious. Never quite satisfied.
You replay conversations.
You overanalyze mistakes.
You feel guilty resting.
You struggle to say no, even when you’re overwhelmed.
If this is you, therapy isn’t about lowering your standards or “doing less.” It’s about reshaping your relationship to said standards.
My Approach
Rooted in safety and self-trust.
1
Understanding the Roots, Not Just the Behaviors
Before trying to make more space, we first seek to understand how these patterns developed. We begin by exploring attachment, early relationships, and how achievement may have become tied to safety and self-worth. We examine the function of perfectionism, the role of the inner critic, and how productivity can become identity. When patterns make sense, we make space for them to loosen their grip.
2
Regulating the Nervous System & Establishing Safety
Perfectionists and people pleasers often live in chronic activation - urgency, overthinking, and anticipating. Insight alone isn’t enough; the body also needs to feel safe. Together, we build somatic awareness, increase tolerance for rest without guilt, and develop emotional regulation skills that prioritize flexibility over control. As your nervous system settles, striving can become intentional rather than compulsive.
3
Building a New Relationship With Yourself
Once we understand the roots and calm the nervous system, we can begin shifting your internal relationship. We cultivate self-compassion without losing ambition, practice boundaries without guilt, and redefine “good enough” as authenticity rather than performance. You’ll begin separating your worth from achievement and reconnecting to the person you are beyond your productivity and achievement.
You are allowed to ask for help.
